Job Title: Process Engineer
Location: Norcross, GA
Status: Long-Term, Possible Temp-to-Hire
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
New Product Introduction - take lead role in performing / coordinating assigned work order builds including: kit audits, stencil fabrication, SMT program generation, build book generation, SMT / TH line set-ups, and interfacing with relative departments and clients to resolve issues as they arise.
Sales Support - support Sales Department by performing assembly services quotations and interfacing as needed with clients to resolve issues.
Process Definition / Improvement - analyze assembly processes, QC yield data, cost accounting data, etc. to research, propose and implement more cost effective, quality conscious and/or delivery driven SMT /TH mechanical assembly processes as required.
Process Development - define and develop new assembly processes per product design / customer requirements.
Perform other duties as assigned
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
1) Assembly process support. Ability to understand process problems; systematically generating ideas to troubleshoot root problems of exisiting processes. 2) Advanced SMT / TH mechanical / electronic skills to provide a higher level of technical support to the assembly production operation. 3) Process vendor interface; to troubleshoot problems and implement solutions. 4) Lead role in defining / recommending assembly process items. 5) Provide technical guidance in the definition / qualification / implementation of new assembly processes. 6) Related duties as assigned - new product intro, new process development, providing technical support to sales department, etc. 7) Must comply with all company safety and business policies.
EDUCATIONAL AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
Minimum requirement is a four year degree in electronics, mechanical or industrial engineering; or applicable work experience in these areas.
Must be computer literate
Must have excellent communications skills
Must be well-organized and have the ability to work efficiently and effectively with minimal supervision
